Prevent Giants Messes With The Best Diapers For Blowouts (2018 Guide)

Prevent Giants Messes With The Best Diapers For Blowouts (2018 Guide)

Diapering is a “dirty” topic, but someone has to talk about it! I informally consider myself the diaper queen, mainly because I have literally tried and tested every brand on my babies' behinds.

From day to day diapers, to overnight diapers, I certainly have my favorites. But, for those breastfeeding blow outs or terrifying teething diapers, you need something that can really do the job and keep lots of poop at bay: the best diapers for blowouts.

If you are sick and tired of scrubbing down your changing table, rinsing off your baby clothes, and mopping up major messes, then read on.

Tips for Reducing Blowouts

1. Take diet into consideration

As you know, breastfeeding can cause blow outs. It sometimes seems that breast milk literally goes right through a baby.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do to prevent that from happening.

But, when your baby gets older and is eating table food, you can serve them certain goodies to bind them up a bit.

Consider serving them toast, bananas, and crackers, and try to avoid dairy, as this can only worsen frequent and loose stools.

2. Get the right fit

Sometimes, you end up with a huge, horrifying mess because your baby isn’t wearing the right size diaper.

Most diapers are sold by weight classifications. You know your baby’s diaper fits well when it appears straight and equally proportioned on your baby.

The waist should be snug and sit right under the belly button. Your fingers should also be able to run around the sides and make sure the cuffs are pulled out.

Blowouts mainly occur because a seal was not formed in the back of the diaper, so be sure you adjust the tabs on the waist to make sure the diaper is tight, yet not uncomfortable.

3. Utilize something highly absorbent!

Most diapers leak because they are of low quality and they don’t contain highly absorbent materials.

Bigger diapers boast more absorbency, so if your baby or toddler is at the end of the weight classifications, always size up and simply adjust the bands to make sure you create a snug fit.

4. Try a diaper extender pad

These pads help eliminate diaper blow outs because they provide additional coverage up the back of the diaper, where poop tends to sneak out of.

They're disposable and fit any kind of brand of diaper, and they're also soft and hypoallergenic—your little one will barely notice they have anything additional added to their diaper!

They may be a bit costly, but you won’t be using them regularly, so a pack of pads will last you awhile!

Best Diapers for Blowouts

#1. Bambo Nature Premium Baby Diapers

A relatively new brand that has become a huge hit with parents is Bambo Nature. These diapers (click here to check the price on Amazon) are ultra-absorbent and are uniquely designed to minimize the risks of allergies and diaper rash.

They are eco-friendly so you can feel good about using them on and around your child’s most sensitive spots, and they have won numerous awards and are also considered the best buy for disposable diapers.

Even if you don’t plan on using them daily, they are great to keep around when your baby’s stools increase, or if you are nursing in order to defeat breast milk blow outs. The tabs are stretchy but strong, and allow you to ensure your baby’s diaper is well positioned and tight, especially around their legs.

#2. Seventh Generation Baby Free and Clear Overnight Diapers

Parents love the Seventh Generation brand, especially their highly absorbent overnight diapers (click here to check the price on Amazon), which coincidently are perfect to be used on days when diapers are being filled quickly.

The diapers offer premium absorbency and boast cloth-like comfort. They're free of fragrances, latex, and petroleum based lotions, so nothing harmful will be exposed on your baby’s skin, while their core contains wood pulp, corn, and wet derived materials to reduce the use of non-renewable petrochemicals as well.

These Seventh Generation diapers are stretchy, so you can get a great, custom fit. And, because they boast 10 hours or leak protection, the diapers are designed to combat the biggest mess!

#3. Babyganics Ultra Absorbent Diapers

These Babyganics diapers (click here to check the price on Amazon) are not only ultra-absorbent, but they are baby friendly.

They contain a 100% natural NeoNourish seed oil blend so they are soft and made totally out of plant-based materials, and they also yield soft-stretch sides and have leak control built in (just make sure the diapers fit snugly).

Parents rave about the diaper’s wetness indicator, which helps prevent diaper rash and helps control diaper changes if your baby is having big blow outs. Parents also love that the diapers don’t contain chlorine, latex, petroleum based lotions, fragrances, or dyes.

And, Babyganics never tests on animals, which is important to eco-conscious folks.

#4. Huggies Snug and Dry Diapers

Although these Huggies Snug and Dry diapers (click here to check the price on Amazon) are not overnight diapers, they are known and loved by parents for the close, snug fit.

A close fit is important for ensuring any liquid or waste doesn’t escape out the sides or back of a diaper. Huggies' diapers are strong, supportive, soft, and comfortable.

They are sold in a number of sizes to accommodate all ages and stages of babies, and boast a triple protection layer so leaks are stopped and are locked in.

Many parents also remark that the Snug and Dry diapers are absorbent enough to use overnight (because they offer 12 hour protection). All moisture is wicked away from your baby’s skin, so it helps deter diaper rash from occurring.

Wrapping Up

Blow outs will happen to everyone from time to time, even when you’ve followed all the tips and tricks above, and have tried some of the diapers I’ve recommended.

However, based on my past experiences, I’ve certainly noticed far less occurrences of blow outs when I carefully put diapers on my little guy, and used some of the brands I have mentioned above!
